12:00 pm–1:00 pm

Join us for a moderated panel discussing all things uterine fibroids – from symptoms and impact on quality of life to the emotional toll of this common condition. Moderated by Juliette Fry, MPH, our panelists, Dr. Erica Marsh, a physician and expert care provider and Tanika Gray Valbrun, patient advocate and founder of The White Dress Project, will talk about the importance of early education and awareness as the first steps to battling this debilitating condition. We will hear Dr. Marsh talk about her experience managing patients with this taboo condition while Tanika will share her lived experience and the importance of self-advocacy with providers across multiple specialties. This session is supported by Pfizer and Myovant Sciences, who are partnered in the women’s health space to disrupt the cycle of suffering in silence and destigmatize periods and uterine health issues. We hope you will join us for this important discussion!

Ethnic and socioeconomic health disparities in asthma care are a result of multiple factors operating at the individual and community levels. Awareness of these factors is essential for healthcare professionals to help advocate for universal access to high-quality care for their patients with asthma, in hopes of reducing the existing disparities in disease morbidity. This program will aim to increase: 1) understanding of disparities present in asthma prevalence, 2) knowledge of the factors that contribute to these disparities, 3) understanding of how asthma treatments, clinical variability, and access to care impact these disparities, and 4) knowledge about what is needed to improve health care equity in asthma specialty care.
